OK. so you are standing on the dreaded weight scale, looking straight, not wanting to look down to see how much weight you lost (or the worst case scenario , how much weight you gained). Then on a last resort move, you finally check out the results, and BAM!!!  You haven't lost a single pound in weeks despite your best effort .

Now you stand there with your heart rushing and doing a poker face, What did you do wrong? why isn't anything working? Am i not doing enough cardio? SERIOUSLY, what the hell is going on.

Worry not, I'm going to  tell you why you haven't reached your weight goals just yet, and most importantly, WHY are you sucking so bad at losing weight.

#1:You suck at counting your calories.

I know a lot of people  will call you a maniac or just crazy by counting every calorie of the meals you eat, or giving that hawk gaze at every label on your food, but this! i put this at the very beginning because its the most important part of all, no matter what diet you get or how much fruit you eat throughout the day, if you eat more calories than your body and daily routine needs, you are going to get fatter! or stay on the same weight (on a best case scenario) .
I don't care what other people say, there's no magic formula and its actually A LOT more simple than you imagine,  and i need you to understand this: Calories IN vs Calories OUT= the weight you gain or lose, there's no other story around the page, or magic stuff , no complicated formulas or diets, it doesn't get simpler than that. If your body needs 2500 calories in a day, eating a diet of 3000 calories a day will get you fatter and fatter every time.
Now how do i know how many calories i need in a day if i work out?, how many do i need if i sit on my desktop all day?.
There are different tools to know this, my favorite one is one called "My fitness pal" it has a mobile app as well, you can find different calculators on the Internet as well. enter your information and you'll get what you need.
IMPORTANT: keep track of what you eat throughout the day, be a small notepad, your phone, your hand whatever works! count the calories on your meals and head towards your goals properly!

2#You don't do enough cardio.

Cardio is the exercise by excellence, the best way to lose that body fat, adding a session of cardio to your gym routine is basic and needed if you are looking to lose weight, but are you doing enough?
As stated before, you need to know how many calories you need throughout the day to know exactly the amount of them needed to make your body function properly, but also staying under deficit to here  a guide to know how many Cals. you losing on that cardio session of yours. Every body is different, so check with your personal trainer or gym instructor, what  works better for you to
accomplish that goal.

3#You do too much of the same

You probably took some history classes at some point in your life, and of course its in your knowledge that we were nomads a while ago, as you have seen even on recent times, we preserve several traits from our ancestors Eg: Body needs to be in constant movement and certain stress from environment otherwise we get obese. However our amazing body , changes and adapts so quickly to our routines and environments , that you would be AMAZED by all the things it can do for you.
Why do i mention all this? well, a long time ago, food wasn't as abundant and as easy to get as it it now a days, we, humans were in NEED of moving around, walking long distances, using a lot of energy throughout the day, our amazing body, adapts to these kind of situations, after a while, your body starts using less energy (and thus fat) to adapt to the stress needed to complete long distances, making it more efficient to complete them while using the least amount of energy.
So now the reason of why you lost a few pounds when you started jogging for 1 hour on that treadmill, and now you are not losing anymore doing the same routine, starts making sense, try cycling on different cardio machines, or routines, HIIT SESSIONS, rest less on your weight sessions, add variety to your workouts in general and you'll see amazing results in no time!

4# You simply don't care enough.

It doesn't matter if you hire the best coach in the industry, get the best diet from a certified dietitian, best tips from the websites around the world, if you are not willing to put the effort, sweat and energy to put this through, you are never going to get the results you want, as anything in life that is worth fighting for, this is HARD work, YES you heard that right, it is hard work, but trust me, and all the successful stories you can read around the web, IT IS WORTH IT!
